Dinner Host: Jesse

To begin round 5 I hosted dinner at Azurri Pizzeria. While our self-proclaimed leader Mo had made other plans, we were blessed with our new friend Luis. I personally hope he decides to become a permanent addition to our fine crew of men.
For this dinner we began with olives and then pears wrapped in prosciutto drizzled with balsamic vinegar and arugula. Next came meatballs in their house made San Marzano tomato sauce.  The starters were simple and beautiful.

The first pizza presented was the classic Margherita with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. The 800 degree Celsius authentic Napoletana brick pizza oven produced chewy and crispy thin crust pizzas. We were in for a treat.
As we enjoyed our first pizza, theories started flying about why Mo would miss this first dinner of Round 5. Other than deciding that his new name will be Fredo, the general consensus is that once Mo (aka Fredo) makes up his mind, there is no changing it.

The second pizza was La Testarossa which was a blend of Capicollo, Calabrese Salami and tomato sauce.
We continued drinking wine and explained the inner workings of our group to our guest, Luis. As an example, Sumeet, Craig and Fredo all openly compete for the leadership role.

The third pizza and most popular of the evening, was the Forza Azzuri which had the most delicious in-house made sausage, then mozzarella, rapini, and herbs and spices.

While we waited for the fourth and final pizza we discussed Mo's punishment (for an earlier rule violation) which in classic Man’s Dinner style, has three options. The first being continuous massages for the entire group, the second requires Fredo to eat vegan for the entirety of the dinner, and the third is that Fredo must request permission to speak. Without permission he has to do a shot. Any option will provide us with ample entertainment at the next dinner. 

The fourth and final pizza was The Ten, and is one of my personal favorites. It consists of San Marzanno tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, Prosciutto, arugula, and finished with Parmigiano-Reggiano.
For dessert we concluded with shots of grappa, espressos, and a bit of gelato.
The patio, the company, the wine and most importantly the food made for a wonderful experience.
